Sorry I hardly ever reply to anyone or update this place ...

I figured I'd do a quick update - since my last entry was around half a year ago.

Events coming up ...

I'll be at BICS again this year. with inspired as usual. its kind of like a 1st anniversary (feels much longer) (and this depends on what you think marks our birthdate)

We have a new anthology going by the name of "pick & mix", because the idea was that it would be without a theme this time. read on the site for information/cover art. We're very prepared this year - to beat the rush at the printers - and I've actually got the comics already

what else?

I'm looking for animations - inspired by manga, comics or graphic novels.
so if you have any or know of any - please let me see them!!!

did I ever link you to my animation from uni? I can't remember. its here in good quality anyway

I'll probably let you know a couple of other projects and things as we get nearer the time.

how are you guys? still here having fun? been up to anything interesting? seen a good movie? read a good book?

@____@ I got a load of books for my birthday. bit thick comics ones. epic - I wont need to buy any more for a long time (but I probably still will >.<;;;; )

Sorry I've been so ... well .. not here, its just dawned on me its been like almost a whole term of uni.

so yeh ... just a little update to whats happening ...

I will be with Inspired Comics at the Small Press Expo in Bristol (May 9th)
We will hopefully have some new printed stuff with us. anthologies. and theres still copies of slice of life and blob available.

Then I'll probably be going down to London MCM Expo (May 23rd)
wont be selling stuff, but maybe I'll get a chance to see some friends and buy ... urrr ..... pocky? ... and ... err ... I hope theres a 50p comics box you can leave me by like a childrens play area in a supermarket/ikea.

have you seen/read anything interesting recently?

I've been reading Scott McCloud - Making Comics and I highly recommend reading it. its great because there aren't many books which focus on creating comics (manga and graphic novels included in that term). most 'how to draw comics/manga/whatever" books teach how to draw the characters, give ideas on what techniques and tools to use and then maybe cover a little perspective. I've not read a book like this since the will eisner books. and to be honest, I think I find Scott McClouds easier to read, because its set out like a comic.

and I've been watching back to back red dwarf DVDs while I colour digitally @_________@

... OK, I have good news ... I will be going to Midland MCM Expo in Telford this weekend. I will be there with Inspired and Itch Publishing to sell comics, run the art competition and have a good time.

so .. yeh ... maybe I'll see you there? do say hi.

It will be incredibly strange being at this particular event with a table. and it will be AWEESSSOMMEEE sharing with itch. I'm really looking forward to it! and I should get to see leek and sushi!!! 8D!!!

Theres lots of little extra things to be doing this week, so I can't chat long.

my 2nd piece of good news is that I've launched a webcomic successfully over the past couple of weeks and I'm well ahead for updates. so .. yeh ... check it out if you have the time. if you're interested in following it the update is Friday lunch timeish (GMT).

umm ... I just finished a rather stressful week. now I feel a bit lost. like I don't quite know what to do with my free time today....

I went to London on Friday ... to the embassy of japan ... to see our work on the wall.

it was a good day. I really enjoyed meeting up with friends for coffee before heading over there. it was a great way to keep calm and catch up. ugh .. sorry I was only really spewing nonsense occasionally with my head in my note book tho ... I found the inking really was making me concentrate on the conversations people where having(rather than letting myself get nervous)

umm I'd babel about it all here ... but I think anyone interested is my live journal friend and has heard this all already. and theres photos and stuff on there. if you are interested ... I guess I'll just re-direct you.

Everyone was really excited about leek and sushi ... but the snow didn't want us to get any.

when I was in london ... I picked up 3 AWESOME comic books from gosh. I've read them already. scott pilgrim 5 is particularly shiny .... umm I don't want to gibber about it too much ... cause I know some people wont be able to get hold of a copy for a while still. I know if I'd not been going to london I wouldn't be getting a copy until well after the 18th February because amazon would be my only option and my post system here is crap.

so ... yeh ... I guess I better go do something productive.
