I managed to avoid a lot of illnesses while at uni ... but I've been ill since I got back home - which seems fair. I'm just glad I wasn't this ill in deadline week.
in my last journal I said I wanted to draw every day ... and "let the choas begin"... but yesterday I tried inking something from the weekend, and I got frustrated and with constant sneezing and decided I wouldn't ruin the image and I'm now trying for a quicker recovery and I'll just do rough doodles for now.
today I've been taking it easy .... I caught up with some tv shows .... and stared into space a lot. past couple of hours have been spent on writers blogs and looking at band photo shoots .... "filling the subconscious" I really need to find some awesome compositions ... it feels like I'll just end up repeating old compositions ... and they where crap anyway.
but speaking of bands and music .... one of my favourite bands, blur, have been "announcing" exciting things recently. I've been listening to BBC6-music (because the radio station I used to listen to went though a load of changes) and they do music news ... so thats been cool. I'm really liking the stuff their early afternoon presenter plays.
lol I heard about the 'blur-inspired' graffiti on millennium bridge in London ... I'd like to think it was some crazy excited fan which put it there. XD but I hear was connected to the tate ... (urgghh I wasn't too keen on a lot of art I saw in the tate)
since I've been too ill to draw ... I should really read all those comics I bought at Birmingham comics show in October ... I'll let you know which I recommend you hunt down at some point over Christmas.
ughhh my university work for the holidays is to read some graphic novels and children's books ... we have a list of particular ones ... so I'm going to have to buy them (nuuuuu) and then read them .... it would've been nicer to be able to choose what we read (then I wouldn't have to pay for more books) ... but I should really stop complaining about that, and look at the bright side - my homework is to read kids books and comic books not academic crap
so today I read a bit of Palestine by Joe Sacco .... its taking me a while to get into it ... theres a lot of text and I find the pages daunting ... it would've been nice if it was a little lighter read .... could they not have given us homework to read the DFC?
I guess it just feels like it could've been more helpful if I could've hunted down a load of silly children's comics for homework .... because thats what I'm thinking I'll probably do with the rest of my life - if I can.
well ... I better go read or something ... have a nice evening/day/whatever
OOOoooo and the reason why I'm linking so obviously to my livejournal is because I'm posting up my project progress over there ... so .... check it out I guess ... and add meeee pleassseeee (lol shameless plugging)
